Regimental Colour (bandera sencilla) of the Regiment of Line Infantry Saboya (Savoy), nicknamed the terror of the French (1840-1845). This Regiment was developed from the former Tercio de Lombardía in 1633 and called Tercio de Saboya. It saw combat in Italy, Flanders and most European campaigns. In 1813 it was moved to America, renamed Expeditionary Queen's Regiment, and fought in Mexico. During the First Spanish Republic it was renamed 6th Infantry Regiment. Its current denomination is 6th Infantry Regiment Saboya no. 6 and belongs to the División Mecanizada.
This Colour was kept until the new 1843 model red-yellow-red flags were received in 1845. The obverse and reverse show the red Burgundy cross embroidered on a white field. The top and bottom angles show the Regimental arms which represent the House of Savoy. The text is painted and says "Rgto de Saboya / 3er Batn" (pintado).
